Disposable Perspectives & YEAH Magazine have come together to bring you a huge and exciting collaboration, “WE ARE DISPOSABLE YEAH”.

Combining both the concepts of Disposable Perspectives and the production talents of YEAH, “WE ARE DISPOSBALE YEAH” is going to be a photography book that hopes to evoke, inspire and engage. And the best part? You can get involved! Yes you can see your very own photo printed in what will be a very sexy publication!

We want photos that have been captured using a film based camera, be it a Polaroid, a Diana Lomo, a Fisheye or a Disposable. There is no theme, but the more wild and imaginative the concept the better.

The best photos will be selected for publication. These will be chosen by a panel made up of the guys behind both YEAH & Disposable Perspectives.

You can submit up to 5 images.

There’s never a dull moment on planet YEAH. I feel like I’ve been a bit out of it recently, having just moved house, I’ve been left with no internet. They tell me it’ll be another 7 to 10 days until I’m connected to the world again.

As much as I love having Internet on my iPhone, it’s just not the same. This blog is jumping through hoops left right and centre just to get to you guys. I’m sat in my internet-less flat writing it, and tonight I’ll whack it on a memory stick (old school), hand it over to Errey, who will post it on the Internet when he gets back to civilisation.

But anyway, enough of me and my moaning. Tonight marks our first meeting in the all new YEAH HQ, aka my kitchen table, and it is one hell of an agenda.

As always, there have been so many exciting things bubbling away in the background, and now it’s time for them to all come into the light!

So, if I can rack my brains and remember everything, here it is…

The Scene

Why not start with the obvious, eh? Our seventh issue is coming on fantastically; so much incredible content has been submitted so far. So much so in fact, I got a call from Errey a few days ago telling me we need more space. We’re working on it, but don’t let this put you off… Keep on submitting!!

A Snappable Competition

Yup, you heard right… We’re holding a competition. We’ve teamed up with a T Shirt company, Snapshut, to find a unique T Shirt design to fit with our 8th issue, REBELLION.

You can find out more details on the dedicated competition website – www.yeahsnapshut.co.uk, and you’ve got until September 30th to get your entry in. If you don’t enter, you won’t see your design on a limited edition T Shirt, nor will you win the Cash Prize or back catalogue and subscription of YEAH. So what are you waiting for?

Disposable Yummyness

We went to local grassroots project, Disposable Perspective’s exhibition opening last week.

The project really celebrates everything that is fantastic about film photography, especially the often forgotten gem of disposable cameras!

We are starting to work on a very exciting project with Disposable Perspectives… But you know what? I’m not going to tell you about that just yet. Well, we wouldn’t want to overload your excitement glands!

YEAH in a gallery

Well, a pop up shop. After Disposables exhibition last week, we fell in love with the gallery space, stole a few contacts, and the rest is history…

August 16th sees the opening of YEAH’s first ever exhibition. Neatly fitting in with the launch of YM007 – THE SCENE, this exhibition will be a celebration of everything YEAH.

We’re still planning the details, and we’ll get back to you on that one soon. But for now, put the date in your diary, and we’ll see you there.

In this day and age ‘Festival-ing’ needs to be Green...

The Green Man festival held in the Brecon Beacons National Park Wales is the un-sung gem of the festival world. The event that started as a small 300 person event in 2003, has now amplified to a gathering of over 10,000 whilst retaining its aura of individuality, celebrating sustainability (that buzz word of the noughties) and enhancing the environmental consciousness of its visitors.

The reason for attending the Green Man isn’t for the just line up like many main-stream festivals, but for the atmosphere. It’s a whole experience; the green man has it all (the lucky fella). It could be described as a hippy festival, but it is enjoyable for everyone who is open minded and likes to chill out and explore the unknown. Under Sugarloaf Mountain in the heart of the park, are reams of stalls boasting local goodies, and different areas for literature, comedy, theatrical antics, bonfires, and the odd environmental debate, fuelled by the local cider of course.

What is most striking about the Green Man is the diversity of attendants that it attracts. In my experience in 2008 I came across everyone from Rastas, to Brazilian dancers, average family and festival-types to Clairvoyants. It is a cultural experience second to none, all in a truly unique and spiritual setting that brings out the hippy in everyone. Co-founder Jo Bartlett was once quoted as saying ‘I view each festival as a work of art’.

The music scene at the event is largely categorised as folk, which suits the setting where children chase bubbles amongst the fairy lights – and given the welsh weather usually under bulging rain clouds. The rain doesn’t dampen the spirit of the campers, all more than willing to take part in the odd mud wrestle. One year it was rumoured that Denis van Outen was seen getting down and dirty, although I was far pre-occupied with a ‘Pie-minister’ deluxe to investigate further. The festival has hosted big names like ‘The Super Furry Animals’ (2008), and this year fans are promised performances from the Doves, The Flaming Lips and Billy Brag.

The festival is also said to be a favourite of The Times’ columnist of the year; Caitlin Moran. Whose quirky almost eco-feminist slant, could be hailed (by me) as an emblem of the annual event. It is fantastic that something with such a good heart and great intentions has taken a running jump into being a fully-fledged-festy whilst retaining its non-corporate standing, independence and character. It is refreshing to see that entertainment and the environment can be combined into such a fantastic event, with the ability to attract hoards of individuals (and individual they are) and spread the eco-message. So peace out people, pull up a tree and chat to the Green Man.

Last night was the opening of The Disposable Perspectives First Exhibition in the Pop up Shops in Portsmouth.

The Exhibition is shared between the brilliant disposable camera shots from the DP project with work from a exceptionally talented Photographer and Illustrator; George Crick.

Rich McEachran the founder of Disposable Perspectives obviously has worked so so hard getting the show together, we were truly impressed.

UNIVERSITY OF PORTSMOUTH STUDENTS DEBUT AT LONDON’S NEW DESIGNERS EXHIBITION

"2010 sees BA (Hons) Fashion & Textile Design with Enterprise at the University of Portsmouth exhibiting at New Designers for the first time. Selected students will be showing their work amongst the best young designers in the UK at this prestigious annual event. New Designers showcases the best in graduate design and attracts professional and public visitors who will discover the creative energy of the next generation. It takes place in London at the Business Design Centre – Part 1 from 1-4 July and Part 2 8-11 July - with different design disciplines presented each week.

Studying fashion and textiles at Portsmouth is a unique experience. This contemporary course has been designed to equip our graduates with the skills and knowledge to understand the breadth of the industry and have the confidence and ambition to navigate a successful career path. Our students understand the symbiosis between the two disciplines of fashion and textiles through practice, theory and an industry context. A range of expertise is represented by the staff team in fashion and textiles design and enterprise, all of which are research active in a variety of fields.

In the second year, students develop their understanding of the professional context of design through individual projects and by the setting up of a commercial fashion and textile design company. This involves them in developing a fashion and textiles related product within the structure of a small design company. The research and development of this product is explored through the completion of a business plan. The product then goes through the production and manufacture stage, including market testing and quality control. Finally, the companies promote market and retail the products through a variety of retail outlets including London markets such as Portobello.

During the third year, our students have the opportunity to work professionally on a design brief led by Industry. This has involved some very exciting collaborations with a variety of vibrant, growing companies and designers. As a result in 2009, two of our student’s work was selected to become part of London based fashion label Pyrus, collection and will be sold internationally. Our students have completed an array of exciting placements this year, including Basso and Brooke, Luella, Christopher Kane and Whiston and Wright. They will also develop their own personal creativity and individuality through a self-initiated brief, which will form their final collections.

Our graduates have succeeded in finding employment in design, buying and visual merchandising with a variety of companies such as Burberry, Monsoon, Marks and Spencers, Fat Face, as well starting their own labels or business, freelancing and progressing into further study."

Displacement – Art Exhibition at The Oxfam Art Gallery Salisbury 5th – 27th August 2010

isplacement is a dynamic, collaborative art exhibition which will be held in the Oxfam Art Gallery in Catherine Street Salisbury. The show, by four emerging artists, runs from 5th – 27th August and aims to challenge established notions of contemporary art. Featured works include photography that exists in ‘a permanent state of development’, paintings that are torn between 2D wall hangings and 3D sculptures and objects that are in conflict between function versus aesthetic.

Four artists are involved in this group exhibition; Martin Billingham, Richard Eveleigh, Zoe Snelson and Sarah Sanger. Each artist has a different specialism ranging from painting to installation. This contributes to the overall theme of the exhibition as does the Oxfam Gallery venue itself. The gallery is something of an unexpected contradiction i.e.: a space filled with character that generates funds for the charity whilst allowing considerable artistic freedom.

‘The Oxfam art team are delighted to welcome Richard back for his third exhibition with us. We are looking forward to seeing the inspiring work that his colleagues will contribute to this show.’ Chris Watts, Gallery Administrator.

YEAH Magazine and Snapshut have teamed up to find a unique and creative design based on the theme of 'Rebellion'. The winning design will be printed on a strictly limited edition series of Snapshut T-shirts, and will be featured in issue YM008 of YEAH Magazine (to be released in November 2010).

All profits from the sale of the Snapshut + YEAH T-Shirts will go towards funding YEAH Magazine, so that they can continue to showcase up-and-coming creative talent and helping young people get their work seen.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

KEEP IT SIMPLE

This website contains some examples of existing Snapshut designs, and you'll see that Snapshut is all about keeping things simple. - When you look around, it's often the simplest images that are the most effective; it's the simple images that really jump out at you; it's the simple images that really pop.

We're grounded in the firm belief that you don't have to shout to make a statement, and our designs reflect this - One magazine said they love the simplicity of our Tees, adding that "with all the overdesigned T-shirts out there now, this is a nice breather...This will be their year!"

We're hoping that the winning design will be bold but simple at the same time. That said, we're always open to new ideas, so feel free to hit us up with any kind of design you like!!

REBELLION

The winning design will also be featured in YM008, which centres around the theme of 'Rebellion'. - So, we're looking for an eye-catching design that fits neatly with this theme. How you choose to interpret the theme is completely up to you!

But until then, if you happen to be in Portsmouth, you can pop along to the University's BA (Hons) Photography Final Year Degree Show.

You can see the one off being exhibited, alongside the work of over 40 photographers.

There'll be exhibitions from other disciplines going on across the building at the same time... and the best bit? It's totally free.

Steve's back... After coursework craziness, flat hunting, and a well deserved break, I am back on form!!

I've had my wrist slapped by Errey for my lack of communications, I'm one of those people who's hopeless at answering the phone, or replying to texts. Ben Flannaghan introduces The Zoo Shoe Project!!!

You may remember the other week Ben Flannaghan was in the YEAH studios with the talented Hannah Goodrham working on an exciting project....

Well here it is!!! The Zoo Shoe... WATCH THE VIDEO...

'THE IDEA is a shoe with an interchangeable upper or 'skin' which is separate to the sole and tongue. The Zoo Skin would be ‘open source’, whereby anyone can contribute their design, resulting in a collaborative experience that aims to showcase new and emerging talent. The skins attach onto the sole of the shoe using a zip that would run around the back of the sole. The skins would be sold separately from the soles so that the wearer can change the appearance of their shoes cheaply and easily.

The Skins are not just a platform for artist and designers, they could also promote bands, events, clubs, companies, magazines, festivals...'

How cool eh?

YEAH will be working a lot in the future with Ben and The Zoo Shoe project!

IMPORTANT NEWS

Hey!!!

As you may of heard YM006 Festivals has gone to print! You probably have, because we have been hollering it from the roof tops for weeks!

YM006 has been set to come out tomorrow Saturday the 15th of May.

BUT for VERY VERY good reason it will now be set back a few days till Tuesday/Wednesday next week.

If you saw YM005, you would know that it was YEAHs first trip into being perfect bound! We decided to go for the more expensive bind to bring up the quality feel of the publication and to make YEAH stand out in the crowd. The problem was that the print company we went to for YM005 sadly did not bind the magazine properly and a lot of the artwork was lost.

So for YM006 we have gone to a new printers!

Trust me I'm getting to the point... Our new printers are so so HOT that they have refused to print YM006 until it's PERFECT... We have been working with the printers all week to make YM006 the best we can get it.

So it's put us back a couple of days.

No Problem!! It will be worth it! We promise!

STATE OF THE ART

TOURING CONTEMPORARY ART EXHIBITION

1st VENUE 10th – 21st MAY THE ELDON GALLERY

State of the Art; is a collective exhibition brought to you by the talented and enthusiastic students from the second year Fine Art degree course of the University of Portsmouth. From the 10th – 21st May, this dynamic exhibition will be exhibited at the Eldon Gallery (Winston Churchill Avenue, Portsmouth) before starting its tour of the city where it will be exhibited in various locations including The Kraken Wakes and Drift in the City over the summer months. This contemporary exhibition captures the changing nature of both the art world and the current global economic situation – the fine art BA course at Portsmouth is being placed on hiatus with no intake of first year students for the coming academic year. The private view of these determined students art will be held on Thursday 13th May, 4-7pm. There will be refreshments, live performances and even a live band.

The work on show represents the up-and-coming talent within Portsmouth, with individual artists grouping together to create an exhibition which guarantees to deliver a spectrum of visually inspiring works. Painting, sculpture, film, animation, performance and relational art will all feature, as well as art reflecting both the contemporary art scene and more traditional methods. The show asserts and merits our presence within the University of Portsmouth. In order for us to finance the show, the State of the Art team has been busy hosting a number of promotional and fund-raising events around Portsmouth. Through hosting events from cake sakes to music nights we have smashed our target of £700. The last of these events will be held on Saturday 8th May at The Eldon Arms 7-11pm. These events provided an entertaining and inspiring experience, demonstrating that, despite the recent decline of Government funding and support, young creative talent continues to thrive.

A new show kicks off the University of Portsmouth summer shows season and it’s a cracker.

It’s called State of the Art, a name which reflects the difficult position fine art/creative students find themselves in.

In a time when funding is being cut across the board, and, as is so often the case, the creative courses tend to be the first to suffer. It will feature a number of artists who create work spanning a broad spectrum, from painting and sculpture to film, animation, performance and relational art.

State of the Art will also move ‘out into’ the local community of Portsmouth. Various art workshops will be held in specific locations in and around Portsmouth.

The exhibition features work by 2nd year BA Fine Art students.

Alex Errey Film Review - Iron Man 2

How can I miss the chance to preview a movie? If I did, not only would my usual insanity plea be accepted and appreciated, but I would be quickly shipped off to the local while-you-wait rubber room. I’m not a fan of there lobotomy cuisine so I happily accepted the chance to see the most anticipated movie of the last few years.

“Iron Man 2”, the sequel every nerd has been drooling over since the red and gold suit made a pass at them a few years ago, blasts onto the screen this week hoping to live up to the success it’s forbearer created, which even then was unexpected. Tony Stark (Downey) returns as the Iron Clad knight with the heart of Palladium, trying to the world a better place. With Peace now the norm, Tony is being put under pressure to give up his mighty Iron Man Weapon “for the good of the people” due to the supposed copycats suits being created around the globe. In usual Stark fashion, he gets out of dodge and decides to relax, but when he lives it up by entering a Vintage race weekend, he comes face-to-face with a Russian Scientist who has perfected his own metal suit and is out for revenge, Whiplash (Rourke). With Tony trying to keep the world safe by himself and with S.H.I.E.L.D looking over his shoulder, the U.S Government take it upon themselves to put it right and try to get their hands on the “Iron Man” suit, sending and old friend to appeal to the mad millionaire (Cheadle).

Compared to the first movie, which was a story about a man who changes his ways; this second outing doesn’t sound clichéd when on paper. Reading it back myself it sounds fantastic, lots of action mixed in with a serious gritty storyline. I’m sorry to say that this not the case. The action is high impact but not as frequent as one would like, but when it does happen it is worth the wait. Fast and loud is how I like it done, and it does deliver, there are a few niggles with length though. In one scene where there is a high enemy percentage, the battle only lasts a few moments where as it would have been better for the audience if more time was given to it, especially as it is an edge of your seat moment. The sub-plots, i.e. Stark and Pepper (Paltrow), S.H.I.E.L.D and Stark, work as stand alone stories. They all give clues of what is going to happen in future films but when it comes down to it, they are quite predictable. I can’t give away any of the endings here, but I didn’t have to guess very hard. I like to be surprised, and sadly I wasn’t.

I wish I was able to get on the set for this one, ok I would have needed to become invisible and sneak in like a ninja (which just isn’t my way of doing things), but it would have been worth the Jail time. Of course as I’ve already stated, Robert Downy Jr. is back as the infamous Tony Stark, a character which has become iconic in the world of comic books and film alike. Downy obviously makes the role complete, he is Tony Stark and I don’t think anybody else could fill his shoes. With his past as diverse as it is, he can draw parts from it and work them into the role he plays. When a character has to put on an act, you know you need real talent to pull it off, and talent is Downy. Plain and simple.

Paltrow once again is fantastic as the fiery Pepper Potts. Strong, determined, and a redhead, a great combination for somebody like me. The chemistry between Stark and Pepper on screen is dynamic; you wonder why these two fabulous actors haven’t worked together before the Iron Man franchise. Well, I can’t think of anything they’ve done anyway. Now, sadly I can’t be so nice about the other players in this film. Mickey Rourke can do a Russian accent, he can also play a bad guy, but he doesn’t seem to fit in very well. Maybe it’s because I know his other works too well and I’m comparing them to each other. To his credit, he does look the part even if he appears to have been in the Californian sun. The main change from the first film is the addition of Don Cheadle. I’ve always been a fan of his work, and due to Terrance Howard having problems with Marvel, it’s all the better in my book. He decided it would be better to copy parts from Howard’s portrayal of Rhoadie because creating a whole new personality might make the audience question it. Don sadly wasn’t as good as I hoped, the amount of scenes he had didn’t really do his acting talent justice, but I’m glad he took the role.

I don’t really know how to rate this film overall. The plot wasn’t really there, but the film still worked. The acting was high Calibre but it didn’t live up to the hype. The action was explosive but I left feeling like a damp rag. It’s all contradiction; Iron Man 2 shouldn’t have worked. It should have been kept off the screen for another year; it wouldn’t have been a bad idea. Maybe a bit more editing would have made this easier, it doesn’t help that they cut a lot of scenes out. One of them was in the advert but not the film for goodness sake!

Overall, I will give this film a thumbs up. It you haven’t seen the first one, it will still work but the plot may seem a bit difficult to follow. You need to know your Iron Man history. If you did see the first one, you’ll be happy to know that the action has been upped, but you will be left wanting more. Nowhere near as good as the first one sadly.

Errey's adventure into Super 8

My first outing on Super 8. Using a completely unknown camera to me on a whole new medium. Very exciting. It has been recorded simply using my laptop hence the low quality. Next time I will pay the extra for Telecine scanning! I think it will be totally worth it because the quality is much better than in reality than on this recording. You can also see it is very over exposed in the second half. DUNO why lol. Will have to go back to drawing board, check manuals etc! Also i slowed it down half way through which created the black lines! you live and learn! I used Cassius by Foals because its Bevs song standard!!

Bunny and The Bull - Alex Errey Film Review

Bunny an the Bull (2009)

Everybody is a little bit mad in their own special way; I have an unhealthy obsession with all things Nautical for example. Being a Pirate opened up a whole new world, even if the rape, pillage and plundering still elude me. Of course, being mad is a good thing in the modern world; some people make a solid career out of being clinically insane. Take The Mighty Boosh for example. Crazy stuff; a talking ape called Bollo, a shaman with a lisp, a Jazz enthusiast & an Electro boy don’t make a good example on paper, but brought to stage and screen it turns into comedy genius. If you’ve seen it, you’ll understand what I mean, unless you hated it which means you are wrong.

The latest project from the Mighty Boosh camp comes via their talented director Paul King in the form of “Bunny and the Bull”; a quirky tale told using common household clutter and a gaggle of comic genius. The story follows a recluse by the name of Stephen (Edward Hogg) who hasn’t left the house in a very long time. When he tries to leave his overly organised home one day, his best mate Bunny (Simon Farnaby) shows up to help retell their last adventure together. Turn the clock back a year, Bunny and Stephen decide to leave their dull lives behind them and venture head first into the sights and sounds of Europe. Along the way they meet an ill-tempered seafood waitress (Veronica Echegui), a Polish Dog Farmer (Julian Barratt) & a drunken Matador (Noel Fielding). All these odd encounters culminate into a story that tests true friendship, and true love, to the limit.

I like this film. I know that’s a very bold statement to push into frame so early on into the review but it has to be said. Firstly the story is very imaginative, it is quite complex compared to the far out Boosh. It still has the quirky going on but it doesn’t try to be unrealistic. It only seems out of this world because of the imaginative use of props and scenery. As Stephen ventures around his flat, the next part of the adventure is told using the items that are near him e.g. newspaper snow, toy cars, Snow Globe Mountains. Ingenious work Mr. King.

The characters fit into this papier-mâché perfectly; their dull lives seem redeemed as they venture into the unknown with new purpose. Edward Hogg & Simon Farnaby work well as a pair, being friends in real life helps pull it off when playing to the screen, big or small. The quips from Bunny are sure to make anybody laugh, take this for example. When Bunny is trying to convince Stephen to place a bet on a horse:

Boosh make an appearance throughout the story as various incarnations, Julian Barratt as a Polish Dog Farmer stands out as my highlight of the film. His broken English is very convincing, a role he takes on quite regular now a days. Richard Ayoade, Noel Fielding and Rich Fulcher have there part to play in story progression, culminating in a hilarious Matador training scene involving alcohol and a shopping trolley.

The movie had a fairly good budget, and utilised it incompletely! I’m not surprised to hear a rumour that they were way under budget, I hope it’s true. Production is to a high standard and it shows in the Blu-Ray version of the film; colourful, vibrant and a great soundtrack to boot, A feast for the eyes as it were. It all blends together in such a way that you soon forget about the homemade landscapes until the next one turns up to astound you. I don’t usually comment on costume design but when you involve such a group as The Mighty Boosh, you can’t leave it out. From glittery bullfighting clobber, to shellfish ensembles, nothing is kept to a minimum. A lot of work has gone into making everything seem correct in a greatly imagined world, hats off to the costume department.

As I said, I really like this film, I do. The mix of the bizarre and truly god damned weird appeals to me and a truly base level, ok, for me that’s quite normal. If you liked the original Boosh work, along with other things like The IT Crowd & The Flight of the Conchords, you will enjoy this film and should appreciate it as much as I do. On the other hand, if you didn’t enjoy such things then this will easily get tedious and boring. The plot is fantastic but as with everything, it has its flaws. Original ideas don’t stand out and old fashion jokes haven’t been re-engineered enough to be present in such a film. Overall, this film will leave you with a good feeling and is well worth the price, even if it’s only rental.

Admission: Free The Spectrum Group is proud to present – SPECTRUM - a photographic exhibition event dedicated to the joy of colour, May 17th – 22nd. The exhibition will be based on the creative outcome of six photographers and their exploration of colour. Each photographer will create a piece of art dominated by the colour chosen, and a creative obsession will grow within this colourful event.

We wish to invite the public to an exhibition based around a playful, yet challenging concept, which will engage our visitors and reach out to a new audience. Converting the project into six equal panels, the exhibition venue will transform into a giant colour wheel room, consisting of a large quantity of images produced by each of the six members of The Spectrum Group; Matthew White, Charlotte Wormley-Healing, Bim Hjortronsteen, Amy Stringer, Roisin Fitzgerald and Kylee Medcaff - all students at the BA Photography course led by Stephen Bull and prof. My Alice or Your Alice?

Alice in Wonderland is unquestionably a fantasy story, full of fairy tale and imagination. Carroll insists on a philosophy that reality is merely a personal construction, where everyone’s reality is different, and it is essentially, all in our minds.

As readers, we are encouraged to make our own assumptions and interpretations about what we are reading. Carroll offers very little in the way of any descriptions, of either characters or situations. The descriptions in the text are just enough to reinforce the story, but vague enough that the reader can let their imagination run wild.

So why is it, that almost everyone would describe Alice as a blonde little Victorian girl in a blue dress?

While many would argue that John Tenniel’s illustrations are second to none, and work with Carroll’s words to form one of the best collaborations in children’s literature. I would like to suggest that maybe they are not so brilliant. As drawings, they are beautiful, but they do leave every reader with the same visual interpretation of the characters. Leaving very little room for imagination.

Maybe Carroll thought it necessary to follow the convention that seems to state that all children’s books must be illustrated. Or maybe it was the idea that in a story requiring so much imagination, just to follow the plot, allowing readers to conjure up their own visual ideas as well, is a step to far.

I must confess, that to me, the first image of Alice I think of is not that of Tenniel’s illustrations. As a child of the 90’s, I instantly think of the animated little girl from Walt Disney’s heart-warming version of the story. But even that interpretation, has clearly been derived from Tenniel’s illustrations.

Perhaps more recently, in Tim Burton’s version, the characters are a bit different, a bit more sombre and unique. But if you really think about it, they owe a lot to the original illustrations too.

To be perfectly honest, the more I think about it, the more I am left wishing I could go back to my childhood, before I ever encountered anyone else’s Alice’s, and read the story with no pictures. See what my own imagination could come up with, when left totally to it’s own devices. I think everyone should be allowed that chance to create his or her own Alice. If Alice is allowed to journey through Wonderland making her own assumptions about the people and characters she meets, why couldn’t we be given the same luxury?

Grandmas are exciting people. No doubt about that. Sure, you get the odd grumpy grandma that tell young bucks to tuck their shirts, but even that gives them an edge that all you young arty hipster types just don’t have. My Grandma isn’t a Granny, or a Nan; she is a full blown, eccentric power-house of a Grandma. I love her. We write to each other quite a bit, it’s a little bit of old school, a whole load of amazing. When he was alive my Grandfather would send me newspaper clippings and National Geographic magazines, just what every young whippersnapper needs. Grandma keeps up the tradition; big brown envelopes, dentist stickers on the front and a whole load of surprises inside. Just like this blog (Yes Errey, I am going somewhere with this). This is my homage to Grandma.

OutsideIN 'Shop'
Friday 30th April – Monday 3rd May 2010
FREE EXHIBITION

Burlington Arcade, Old Christchurch road, Bournemouth, BH1 2HZ

‘Shop’ is an interactive, performance artwork, set within an empty shop space in Bournemouth town centre. They have designed and made hundreds of fake products from cardboard to create a fully immersive and engaging fake shop.
Members of the collective will be on hand to explain the project and encourage visitors to engage with the performance as if it were a real shop. Visitors to ‘Shop’ will see a whole shop made from recycled cardboard. All the products lining the shelves will be handmade works of art with<>
Why are they doing it? In the current financial climate, shops across the country are going out of business, often left for an indeterminate amount of time as empty, tatty shells. Reflecting badly on the local area.

OutsideIN have come up with an innovative way of using these spaces to benefit their local community. 'Shop' is Art with a social conscience. The event is made using recycled material sourced from the waste of our commercial high streets. Then transformed into objects, which question our role as consumers and encourage discussion on our shopping obsessed culture.

On the last day of the event, from 4pm onwards Monday 3rd May 2010, there will be an open discussion, in which members of the public can talk with local officials and artists about the cultural and commercial future of the high street.
“When a person comes into ‘Shop’ and takes home a free cardboard product, maybe they’ll see it as something that questions the difference between what we are being sold and what we actually get as a consumer. Maybe not, but I’ll be happy if they’ve just had some fun.” Fred Nicholas, Artist, OutsideIN Creative Collective.

The event takes place at a time when Bournemouth is buzzing with creativity. Bournemouth is celebrating its Bicentenary and 'The lower gardens' event (held by AUCB Fine Art). 'Shop' is a great example of the growing creative atmosphere in the Bournemouth area.

Antroovarn YEAH MAG MIX

Antroovarn is a bristol based Dj and soon to become producer. His unique Dj styling has got him big support set's with the like's of Rustie, Youngsta and Plaid to name a few. Along with his support set's he is also a resident at local Bristol student nights such as "Clown Club & Beat's'n'Veg" respectively. His sets are combined of drilling bass fulled electro, upbeat house and anything else which he thinks will go into a set, so expect the unexpected. He recently has joined force's with another Bristol Dj called "Noski" who he was doing a lot of Dj set's with and have started up the "Bhashka Le Rat" project which is starting to cause a stir within the blogosphere world as we speak. Big things are expected for Antroovarn and Bhashka.

We have been working a project with Dizzy Charity shops to create festival outfits from clothes from their boutique stores. Errey and Stevie got their other halfs to model for the shoot on East Preston beach, between Littlehampton and Worthing. Fun was had by all!! You will be able to see the final product in the up and coming issue YM006!

If you haven’t heard of Terry Gilliam in your sad or lonely life, then you must have been living under a rock or inside of a very rotund biscuit barrel. You think that my sentence was quite odd don’t you? Well, in the world of Mr. Gilliam this is quite normal. None of his work has been really sensible or down to Earth, which it shouldn’t be. Nothing wrong with being outside the box, as long as you don’t try to eat your way back in.

Gilliam is known best for his basic but legendary animation skills for the British phenomenon known as “Monty Python’s Flying Circus” (1969-1974). His simple way of doing things turned into comic genius, a motorised pram that ate people wasn’t exactly normal was it? Later he went back to help his fellow Pythons with the films “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” (1975), “Monty Python’s Life of Brian” (1979) & “Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life” (1983). He has also directed solo works including “Time Bandits” (1981), “Brazil” (1985) & “12 Monkeys” (1995). Known for his quirky style, his latest feature film, “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus” (2009) which was released on DVD and Blu-Ray March 29th 2010, was expected to deliver a gravy boat of whimsical sturdiness.

Dr. Parnassus (Christopher Plummer) and his Daughter, Valentina (Lily Cole) run a travelling stage show offering punters the chance of a lifetime, to go through the mirror into The Imaginarium, A place where your own imagination creates the world. When they accidentally stumble upon a man hanging from a bridge (Heath Ledger) and save his life, he joins them turns their theatre troupe into a thriving business. But when an old friend of Dr. Parnassus turns up, Mr. Nick (Tom Waits), a wager is made that and Valentina is the Prize.

Firstly, what a fantastic cast this film has. Good work Casting person whose name I don’t have hand at this very moment. Well done. Christopher Plummer has done some great acting in his time, a true great. He portrays Parnassus perfectly with wisdom pouring out of every wrinkled crease. As a friend of mine was very happy to point out, Tom Waits is also in this movie. He has done a bit of acting in the past but is better known for his music, he is described as “one of the last beatniks in contemporary music”. He can certainly move like the Devil should. Happily by all my counts, Lily Cole gives a fantastic performance as Parnassus’s Daughter Valentina. Put a ginger haired angel in a film and I’ll give it a watch. Happily for all those who aren’t into the ginge as much as I am, her acting should be noted. Hopefully more roles will be coming her way in time.

With the sad passing of Heath Ledger, the film almost never got made. It’s quite hard to make a film if you haven’t got the leading star. Thanks to Heath’s friends and a quick re-write, Johnny Depp, Jude Law & Colin Farrell stepped in to play Heath’s character Tony when in the Imaginarium, each time donning a different face as he goes through the mirror. Luckily, Heath had filmed all the non green screen work before his passing, taking all his hard work out would have been disrespectful. The film is a fitting tribute to a great man, and an even better actor.

“The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus” is a great film. It won’t be everybody’s cup of tea, for a fantasy film it is very complex. Don’t concentrate and the story will run away from you. To get the full benefit from this film, you will need to see it on Blu-Ray. There’s a lot of Detail to behold, it is certainly one of the most beautiful movies I’ve ever seen. A pure HD delight.

The only thing that could have made the film better was if there was a cameo from one of Gilliam’s Python friends. John Cleese would have fit in well inside the Imaginarium. What do you think?

Hey!

Sorry for the bit of radio silence here on the Blog!!
We have slapped our wrists about it.
So sorry sorry!

We have been very busy at YEAH HQ. Over the last week we have been involved with a lot of networking for the mag, meeting a lot of interesting people that all have been very helpful to the YEAH project.

We have now been set up on a system that enables us to work on the magazine anywhere in the world, all we need is a internet connection. This means that when the YEAH Editors, Errey and Stevie are working apart (which often happens) they can still work on the magazine. BRILLIANT. This will completely revolutionise the way magazine evolves over the creative process, its all very exciting.

The system is brilliant and its gratefully received seeing that its only two weeks left till YM006 goes to the printers!!!

A lot of work has also been going on the business structure of YEAH, both editors are from a creative background, so the business side of things have been new to them. YEAH has received so much help and advice to enable us to grow. We would especially like to thank Jools Chaffer from Dizzy -support 4 diabetes www.dizzy.org.uk and Steve Cusack from CAM www.camcentral.co.uk for their help and advice, Steve has agreed to be Errey's business mentor which will be so beneficial to the project! Steve - Thank you!!!

Things are full speed ahead at YEAH - The next few issues are going to be revolutionary for us. Thank you all for your support and please keep supporting us through the up and coming months.

A YEAH One Off Piece. Updated.

This piece is a personal collaboration with YEAH Magazine, and will form the practical resolution for my final year degree project.

In line with YEAH, the piece will be theme based, in this case, exploring peoples responses to their favourite children’s book. I have been asking contributors to respond; in whatever manner they choose, to a book from their childhood. I have asked them to think about what memories they have of the book, how it made and still makes them feel, and what it means to them.

Although it is a magazine collaboration project, I am reluctant to call it a magazine. The final format is still a work in progress at this stage, originally I envisaged it sitting somewhere between a magazine and an artists book. However, the more the project progresses, the more reluctant I am to bind it.

In a project so heavily built around the concept of childhood, I thought it important to ask people what childhood means to them. The response I got built up a picture of childhood as a time when there is nothing to worry about, when you are free, with no cares or worries. It’s exciting and beautiful, a time for innocence and adventure. It’s about exploring, interacting and learning.

I want these elements to be reflected in my piece. I have begun to think that to bind this project, to give it a rigid ‘magazine’ form, would limit the adventure. The reader wouldn’t get enough of a sense of exploration and excitement.

From the projects I have been researching, I have decided that I want the readers or viewers of this piece to be able to interact with what they see. They need to feel it, smell it and most importantly, experience it.

The way my ideas are going at the moment, the piece may take the form of a sort of ‘box of goodies’. As a child myself, I would collect things in a shoebox. I collected letters, photographs, shells, leaves, and pretty much anything else I found and was fascinated by.

Maybe the piece will be a box crammed full of postcard images, miniature books, toys and things to evoke memories.

At the moment I am still gathering contributions, and beginning to piece them together. One of the biggest issues I face is authorship. This seems to be a recurring theme in a lot of my projects recently.

On a photography course, where my projects include no photographs of my own. Where do I stand? How do I make the work my own?

I have thought about including my own photographs in this piece. To be perfectly honest, I don’t want to. Somehow, I don’t think it fits, I don’t think it would be right.

I think this is a curation piece, about how I bring together the work I have collected, commissioned or sourced. My work is to curate, to bring together and to present the work.

So, that’s where I am at the moment. Who knows where it will end. My only constraint is time, the downfall of it being tied to my degree.

I can't really think what to update you on at the moment, it's all been very crazy in Erreytown and Stevetown recently...

YEAH's ONE OFF SPECIAL EDITION

Thank you to everyone who's submitted Childhood content so far.

The plan's changed a bit (I told you this would happen, we've got my uni tutors to thank), now I'm going to focus the ENTIRE thing on Children's Books.

So if you've got a moment to spare, it would be really awesome if you could submit something! Your chance to get published in a VERY exciting, limited edition YEAH.

The brief:

I am asking you to create a response to your favourite childhood book - it can be whatever book you treasure the most, or the one that stands out in your memory.

Your response can be in whatever form you choose - be it writing, photography, drawing, anything. There really are no boundaries in this.

Think about what the book means to you, how it makes you feel, what emotions it brings out.

An update on the YEAH one off...

It's been a while since I updated on this project, and how it's going. To be honest, it's been kinda put to the back of my mind recently.

I've been working on developing the idea for the format, I've done a TONNE of research into it... But all I'm gonna really tell you is that it will be very exciting.

In terms of content, there's a few things planned.

But really, the one thing I want to ask you guys to help with, is this...

Part of the magazine will be based on children's books, and peoples responses to them.

What is your favourite children's book? Why?

I want to ask you to create a response to your favourite book.

Your response can be whatever you feel appropriate.

And in what ever format you choose - writing, photography, art, drawing... Whatever.

I really look forward to getting some responses to this - I can see it being really exciting!

As I'm sure you are aware, this is being done as part of my coursework, so there's the time old problem of Deadlines.

If you are going to partake in this part of the project, I really would need your responses by March 12th. I'm sorry it's such short notice, but there's not a whole lot I can do about that.

I love nudes. I don’t mean naturists (not that I have anything against those who have the balls, ahem, to wander around naked), but of course I’m talking fashion. Nude colour trends are the biggest thing for Spring / Summer ’10. Cream, beige, grey, ivory, soft blush pink and mauve shades will be your must have for next season so here’s my top five ways to get started on this au naturale trend.

Nude shoes.
If Mother Nature hasn’t blessed you with naturally long and luxurious pins, there’s something you can do to change this; and fortunately for all; its also one of the hottest trends for Spring. Whether you prefer sandals, shoobs, boots, wedges, ballet pumps or classic courts; all will fit the nude trend. Nude lace.
I lived in my Topshop black lace leotard all winter, despite the chills, so I am very excited to see the range of nude lace pieces available for Spring. This is the most daring out of all the trends; but definitely worthwhile. Last week Errey went to Morocco... WHAT AN AMAZING PLACE!!!

If you ever get a chance to go I totally endorse that you do. I was lucky enough to go along on a Photography trip taking 39 17/18 year olds to Marrakech and De Imlil in the Atlas Mountains (don’t beat me up for spellings!). When we first step foot out in center of the city it felt like being on a film set! There was so much going on, with lots of new sights and smells bombarding the senses. It’s all so different to the UK. What a brilliant place for photography, there is a picture around every corner; you become “photo-ed” out because there is just so much!
In complete juxtaposition to the busy Marrakech, an hours drive away up into the mountains sitting at the base Mountain Jbel Toubkal was De Imlil an incredible Berber village set in a huge picturesque valley. We had a Kasbah luxury hotel all to ourselves; being staff we had UBER luxury rooms. SO good! We were there for a couple of days going on hikes around the valley, chilling out in the Berber villages, relaxing on balcony in the nice weather and having a few drinkies in the evenings. PERFECT.
I didn’t want to leave the mountains at all. I will be going back.

A little off topic maybe, but I thought I'd share my thoughts and ramblings on the world of magazines, a world which seems to be slowly consuming my own little world.

So, at the moment magazines are pretty much my life…

I’ve recently started my Final Year project for my degree. Yes, I am studying Photography. But, my project is not all that much about Photography really.

Starting from our baby YEAH Magazine, I have decided to focus my projects on magazines. The plan, at the moment at least, is to create a one off, special edition of YEAH. It will be theme based (of course), but commissioned and directed by yours truly. Although I will use other peoples work, the finished product will be my work – authorship blah blah.

To be honest, I’m really quite excited about it. It’ll give me the chance to really play around and explore what a magazine is, and can be. I have no limitations whatsoever, exciting stuff! Look out for more about this soon, ideas for a theme anyone?

My rant?

I’ve been starting to research a lot into magazines, for the project you see. I’ve found some awesome things, zines, artists books and mags – all getting me very excited!!

But one thing is really bugging me. Whenever I find an awesome looking mag, look around their website, and I can’t find anywhere to actually buy the magazine.

No, I don’t want to read it online, I don’t want to download a PDF. I want to be able to hold an actual real live magazine, flick through it, feel the paper, smell that new magazine smell. Don’t worry, I’m not crazy, I just seem to have this overwhelming, irrational passion for print.

Why is it that magazines are fading out, they are stopping to exist.. as magazines. It actually makes me kinda sad, they can be so beautiful. To a lot of people, magazines seem to be what you read on the train to pass time. To me, they’re gorgeous, they’re an art in themselves. I’m not talking Heat and OK here, I mean the more arty types. It’s not just something to read, or look at. I don’t think about an article, an image, and another article. It’s the whole experience as you flick from cover to cover, taking in the words, the images, the adverts and the messages you get from it all.

I know I probably sound totally deranged, but I just LOVE magazines. Real ones, that you can touch. And smell.

Mike Stimpson has three of his beautiful photographs in YM005 - GIRLS & BOYS. His photographs are unique, quirky and to be perfectly honest, just plain cool. We asked him to tell us a bit about himself and his work...

"I'm a part-time photographer, and full-time video game programmer, from the West Midlands. I try to create whimsically funny photographs in miniature, and have tendency to try and remake famous works of art with small plastic people. The contents of my photographic toolbox consists mostly of Lego figures, a good proportion of which are Lego Stormtroopers due to my Star Wars obsession.

 I take my inspirations from any type of art I can find, photographs, paintings, films, online and in books. If I stuff my head with enough visual knowledge I find ideas for photographs pop out ocasionally.

I've been into photography for about 3 years, Lego a lot longer, Star Wars probably longer than that. No-one has yet mentioned to me that that art has to be serious, so I'm trying to take as many photos as I can before I realise that."

A year ago today Stevie came into my life. On placement from Portsmouth Uni to Alton College where I work, Stevie quickly became involved with YEAH and a great friendship was born.

YEAH Magazine MOST Definitely would not be what it is today, or possibly still exist without Stevie being on the scene. So everyone should be thankful!!!

Unleash the wild within your wardrobe.

One of 2009’s most eagerly anticipated films swept our imagination into a world far, far away where a nine year old boy is made king to a collection of ground bounding, mud throwing, eight feet tall creatures. But Spike Jonze didn’t just steal my imagination with Where The Wild Things Are, he’s also inspired my fashion sense…

I was not only in awe of the handcrafted and beautifully creative cinematography, but also utterly envious of Max’s wolf costume. Comfort – yes, style - yes, quirkiness – definitely! After seeing WTWTA, all I wanted to do was run around the streets in a white wolf jumpsuit (after all, jumpsuits are set to make yet another fashion comeback in 2010…)

Whilst this may not be deemed as an acceptable outfit for popping down the shops in (sob); I’ve come up with some other ways to incorporate an animalistic approach into any outfit.

Fur
One of the most popular options for a winter jacket this season has been the fur coat. Warm, cosy and vintage as hell, this is a trend that everyone knows about and justifiably so. Our favourite faux fur coat is from River Island (http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/7870/cassw.png ) but I’d always recommend to check your local charity and vintage shops first, because chances are you can get one for half the price.

Feathers
Feathers have been in the spotlight all this winter; some people have hit the fashion nail bang on the head; whilst others just end up looking like Big Bird. The key to this trend is the all time classic fashion law: less is more. Animal Ears
A trend that technically was started by a certain Mr. W. Disney; animal ears have progressed from fancy dress to high fashion. Started by Luelle, continued by Vuitton and Chanel then commercialised by Lily Allen and the Olsen twins; animal ears are the ultimate way to make a cute and quirky statement to your outfit. I would love to be able to afford a Maison Michel Rabbit Ear Lace Headband, but as I can’t I’ll be heading to Asos.com (http://www.asos.com/Jameela-Jamil/Asos/Asos-Velvet-Bunny-Ears-Headband/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=846886) to follow this trend.

Today was the shoot for my YM005 article (no, I'm not going to tell you what it's about), and really, it was AWESOME!!

I had SO much fun, and my models were incredible. Complete naturals infront of the camera!!

Since leaving Alton, where I met Errey and Stevie, plus a whole load of other amazing people! It’s also where I first heard of YEAH, and I’ve wanted to get involved with it since. Most of my work is an architectural style but it’s all the people and little details within the scene that interest me. Since Alton I’ve moved down to Bournemouth to study Commercial Photography, which is INCREDIBLE. I’m just coming to the end up a big portraiture project that has been focused on technical skills and printing. My first ever go at Portraiture, and on cameras I’ve never used before? Love it. So at the Youth Led Media Summit when the idea of me shooting the cover for Girls and Boys came up, there could only be one answer!

The end of our first year - by Stevie

As we come to the end of our first year, we want to say a massive thank you to everyone who's been involved with YEAH.

This time last year, YEAH was not much more than a sparkling little idea in Errey's head. The first ever issue was released in February 2009, by which point it had a new co-editor - Me!! Who'd have thought that a teaching placement would leave me with a fledgling magazine to love and nurture.

It's been said many times and by many people that Errey and I act like a married couple - finishing each others sentences and bickering over nothing at all. And really, when we think about it, YEAH is our baby. From it's birth in February, we've loved it, nurtured, spent many sleepless nights thinking about it. But we both love it more than anything.

If you've been lucky enough to look at the first issue, you'll understand when we say how much it's improved. We have come so far in just 12 months, and it might sound a bit big headed, but really, we're damn proud of it!!

But enough about us, YEAH wouldn't be anywhere without the work of all our dedicated, talented and inspirational contributors.

YM001, all the way back in February, was made up of the work of just a small group of people. All the imagery was Errey's own, with only a couple of writers and other people helping out.

In our latest issue, YM004, we had the work of over 25 contributors. People of all ages, backgrounds and nationalities. All of whom found out about YEAH and decided they wanted to get involved. We want to take a moment to thank every single person who has contributed to YEAH over the past year. We really wouldn't be where we are now without you, and we hope we have helped you as much as you have helped us.

I also want to thank everyone who has believed in us, offered advice, or even just bought a copy!! All those people who heard about YEAH, and saw the spark, saw the potential. You have helped us immensely, from the obvious support we needed to get the project off the ground, but also, for having faith, it's your encouragement that gave us the drive to keep going.

Not only have we produced 4 magazines in 2009, YEAH is about more than that. We have been lucky enough to attend the UK's first ever Youth Led Media Summit, that was such an honour for us. We've started selling in shops across the south coast, and in Sweden!! In October Errey and I went on our first ever business trip, to visit Johan in Gothenburg - to name just a few!!

2009 is just the beginning, the tip of the iceberg, so to speak. We are gonna get so much better in 2010, we already have a lot of really massive, exciting plans (all top secret of course, but be excited!!). So if we could ask just one more thing from all of you, all of YEAH's fans and supporters, it's that you keep on supporting us. We're going from strength to strength, and it's all thanks to you guys.

So from both Errey and myself, we want to say a huge huge huge thank you, to all of you.

I'm gonna apologise now for this next part, this post is turning into a bit of an Oscar Winning Speech, but really, it needs to be done. So here's all our thankyou's...

To both my parents, and Errey's, and our whole families - you've put up with us through it all, through the ups and downs. Amanda, Rich, Naomi and Kate - for understanding, and letting us put YEAH first.

To Johan - for believing in us, for his amazing photography, and for looking after us in Sweden.

YEAH at the Youth Led Media Summit!!

Okay, so it might be a few days late... But it's time for Steve's report on the Youth Led Media Summit.

Although I'm REALLY not a fan of early morning starts (I was up at 4am, yuck), it was an absoloutly incredible day!!

Me and Errey were on the train bright and early, working on our presentation - nothing like leaving things to the last minute!! We met up with Max Catterall (a friend of ours, ex-alton student, YEAH supporter since the beginning and the lucky guy who's shooting the cover for YM005) and hopped on the tube to Liverpool Street!!

The whole event was held at RichMix in London's Bethnal Green Road, a really amazing up and coming arts centre. We got an awesome welcome from the organisers - could definitely get used to be recognised like that!! Then luckily had a bit of a chance to chill out before the day got underway.

At 9.30 we all went off to the Cinema for an official welcome from the events host Riz Ahmed. We listened to some fantastic people talk, from some really interesting backgrounds and projects. Everyone there was in some way involved in Youth Media projects, where Young People make over 50% of the decisions.

There was a panel debate, discussing issues of misrepresentation of Young People in the media, it was a really interesting discussion, with some very strong points being raised!! On the panel, chaired by Riz, was Rod Stanley (Editor of Dazed and Confused), Bob Satchwell (from the Society of Editors), Matt Locke (from Channel 4), Rajini (from BBC Radio 1 News), Dwain Lucktung (from Ctrl.Alt.Shift) and Sir Al (the Childrens Commissioner for England).

After some rather fantastic Bagels, we were up - time for our presentation!!

It went really well, despite Errey gabbing too much, and leaving me to rush through my section! We showed a video walkthrough of YM004, our current issue.

We heard some more fantastic people talking about their projects, before heading off for lunch - Yumm!!

During lunch we had so many people wanting to talk to us, it was fantastic!! The feedback we got from the magazine was so inspiring, everyone seemed to love it!! We've now got some really exciting leads for 2010, more information on that one later!!

Then it was the moment we'd been waiting for - our workshop with Dazed and Confused Editor, Rod Stanley. It was really brilliant, really relaxed and informal. We chatted about the problems we've all faced with our projects, and how we can get around them. He told us about working at Dazed, really interesting stuff!!

After that the event sort of came to an end, but we all had such an amazing day. Met loads of really inspiring people, especially Warsan and Susana, who managed to put the whole event together, and made it run so smoothly - so a massive thankyou to them!!

I think that's just about everything from the Summit itself, but not the most exciting part of the day!! You see, we'd been planning all day to head off to the pub after the event... And Max jokingly said that Errey would probably ask Rod to come with us, so what did I do?? I texted Errey, saying we think he should invite Rod out for a drink with us... And he did.

And we found ourselves propping up the bar in a London Pub, with the Editor of Dazed and Confused. He really couldn't be a nicer guy, asking loads of questions about our magazine, giving us ideas, and just generally chatting!! It was SO surreal, but SO awesome.

That one's definitely going down in the YEAH history books!!

We had a really really fantastic day, and it has helped the project so much. It's got us so inspired, and more determined than ever to make it work!!

We've got some very exciting meetings lined up in the new year... with Portsmouth's Express FM, and with Fran from the National Youth Agency - very exciting stuff!!
